This firm agrees if elected to membership; that, in accepting the privileges, it will also accept the obligations of membership; that it will be governed by the Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws of the General Contractors Association and furthermore agrees to promote the objectives of the Association. This firm further agrees that, out of its annual dues, $15 shall be applied to an annual subscription of the Constructor magazine and $15 to an annual subscription to the national newsletter.
Membership dues to the General Contractors Association of Hawaii are normally deductible expenses for Federal income tax purposes as an ordinary and necessary business expense according to IRS Code Section 162(e).
A member in good standing who resigns his membership is entitled to a refund of said Security Deposit in accordance with Article V of the Association By-Laws. However a member who is suspended by reason of dues delinquency as provided under Article IV of the Association By-Laws will lose all right or claim to said Security Deposit as it will then be applied to back dues or other indebtedness owed to the Association.
